| Spring-Force Plug Connectors for Device
Inputs and Outputs
The SPC 16 and ISPC 16 spring force plug connectors
from Phoenix Contact establish a touch-protected connection of device
inputs and outputs up to 76 A. The conductors of these high-performance
devices are connected quickly without the need for tools by simply
using the push-in spring-force connection. This spring makes it
possible to connect rigid or flexible cables with cross sections
up to 16 mm² without tools and with little use of force.
Both plug connectors have unrestricted 600 V UL approval
in use group C and are thus appropriate for use on the international
market. They are compatible with PC 6-16 headers and thus offer
an alternative to plug connectors with screw connections. Furthermore,
free-hanging wire-to-wire connections are possible with spring cage
connections up to 76 A.

Right-Angled Connection Technology in minimum
dimensions
The Combicon MCO headers from Phoenix Contact are
equipped with an orthogonal connection technology in 3.5 pitch.
Compared with headers in pitch 5, it is now possible to connect
an additional pin per terminal point.
Versions with three, four and five pins are available.
With the angled male connectors, these headers are particularly
well suited for assembly on vertical PCBs in the ME and ME MAX electronic
housings from Phoenix Contact.
It is also easy to combine headers in 3.5 or 5 pitch
in the same ME/ME MAX housing. There are many options for connecting
PCBs using combinations of different screw or spring force connector
variants.

PCIM Europe 2008 - Trade Fair for Power Electronics
-
Phoenix Contact Represented for the Third Time
The PCIM (Power Conversion Intelligent Motion) is
the international meeting point for experts in the field of power
electronics and its application in intelligent motion as well as
power quality.
Here you will find the latest developments of power
semiconductors, passive components, products for thermal management,
new materials and sensors, up to servo-technology, as well as the
wide area of power quality and energy management compact, focussed
and clearly arranged under one roof. This internationally established
trade fair with conference and tutorials combines all components
of power electronics.
This year, this diversity will be perfectly completed
again by the Device Connection Technology made by Phoenix Contact.
So come and visit Nuremberg from May 27 – 29, 2008 and use
the opportunity to get information on the latest products in power
electronics. Phoenix Contact can be found in hall 12, booth 352.

Small Connectors - Great Impact
The new power connectors GIC 2,5 HCV together with
the GMSTB 2,5 HCV complete the plug connector family for the 600
V UL approval. The plug connectors by Phoenix Contact feature a
space-saving and compact design. Already in the 7.62 mm pitch, the
plug connectors already have the unlimited 600 V UL approval in
the use group C (1000 V acc. to VDE) due to the high voltage design.
Therefore, nothing opposes the application on the international
market.
Device inputs can be designed in a space-saving way
with the GMSTB plug connector. Due to the inverted design of the
GIC plug connector with female contacts, the device output becomes
a touch-proof connection. With these versions, even free-hanging
cable-cable-connections and PCB-PCB-connections are no problem.
At a connection cross section of 2.5 mm flexible, the transmitted
current is 16 A (at an ambient temperature of approx 60°C).
For smaller connection cross sections and therefore smaller currents,
the current carrying capacity curve has to be considered. The conductor
connection is effected with the tension sleeve principle in the
screw connection method.
