Sensor-Actuator Boxes with M8 Slots

Five different master cable connection concepts for M12 sensor-actuator boxes from Phoenix Contact can now be fully implemented for distributors with M8 slots. Distributors are available with preassembled master cables in lengths of five or ten meters. They can also be individually customized to suit specific applications, with cable lengths from 0.5 m to 50 m, in 0.5 m steps.

If quick replaceability or detachment is required for assembly and transport, distributors with pluggable M16 or M12 connectors can be employed. Boxes with pluggable screw connections or spring cage terminal blocks can be used for convenient, on-site assembly of distributors. Both distributor types also provide the system with universal pluggability.

The distributors are available with a choice of four, six, eight or ten slots. The boxes meet the requirements of protection categories IP65/67 and, thanks to their fully molded design, are well suited for use in harsh industrial environments.

Phoenix Contact’s comprehensive product range provides suitable connector cables for connecting to the sensors or actuators.

Easy and Safe Assembly of M12 and M8 Round Plug Connectors

The new screwdriver from Phoenix Contact with pre-configured torque is the best tool for screwing in all M12 and M8 round plug connectors with longitudinal knurls. The advantage of this tool becomes especially clear in the assembly of molded SAC lines or custom-assembly M12 and M8 plug connectors when space is tight, such as on distributor boxes. The tight arrangement and the large number of sockets on such devices make correct installation by hand almost impossible.

The manually preassembled plug connector is fastened by means of the assembly tool. An acoustic signal is triggered to show when the preconfigured torque has been reached. Correct installation is no longer dependent on the subjective perception of the assembler, and loose plug connections are a thing of the past.

The screwdrivers are available for M12 plug connectors with a preconfigured torque of 0.4 Nm and for M8 connectors with a torque of 0.2 Nm. Given its slim 4-mm hexagon drive, the tool is ideal for narrow work spaces. To loosen the plug connector, the assembly simply needs to be twisted. The plug assemblies are available in four designs for molded lines and custom-assembly plug connectors.

COMBICON - PCB Connection

Heavy-duty spring-cage plug connectors

The SPC 5 and SPC 16 spring-cage plug connectors from Phoenix Contact offer an easy-to-install and time-saving solution for wiring in PCB connection technology. Both plug connectors are designed with a combi/spring spring-cage connection for direct tool-free connection to the PCB. This spring permits the connection of flexible cables with cross-sections up to 6mm² and rigid cables with cross-sections up to 10mm² with the SPC 5 plug connector. Thus a current of 41A can be transmitted with a 7.62mm pitch. The SPC 16 plug connector with pitch size 10.16mm also permits the tool-free connection of flexible cables with a cross-section up to 16mm2 with minimal force. The current loading capacity in this case is 76A.

Both plug connectors have unrestricted 600V UL approval in use group C and are thus appropriate for use on the international market. They are compatible with market standard housings and thus offer an alternative to plug connectors with screw connections.

Industrial Wireless - With safety across all channels

Reduces maintenance and downtime and increases the availability of your machine or system, thereby increasing the productivity.

Installing cables in extensive systems or exchanging wear-afflicted drag chains and sliprings are certainly not among the "dream jobs" of an electrician. Not to mention the high installation, assembly and maintenance costs. Modern wireless transmission systems reduce the maintenance and downtimes, increase the system availability and allow for increased productivity. Mobile programmer access points are also easily and quickly possible with Bluetooth components.
With "Industrial Wireless", Phoenix Contact offers transmission systems for various applications in mechanical and plant engineering, as well as process control engineering. The basic requirement for industrially viable "safety across all channels" is that these systems are able to handle the highest demands with regard to signal transmission reliability.

Bluetooth®
The compact Factory Line Bluetooth access points and client adapter FL BLUETOOTH AP allow the simple and reliable implementation of wireless Ethernet connections in an industrial environment. Both IP-based as well as industrial Ethernet protocols like PROFINET are transmitted transparently. Also, many Bluetooth connections can be operated parallel to a WLAN system without any malfunctions.

Trusted Wireless
The unidirectional and bidirectional Trusted Wireless system has now been made ex-compliant. Suitable for applications in the Ex area of Zone 2, transceivers can be used to transmit digital or analog 4 - 20 mA signals. Extension modules can be mounted in a row quickly and simply via the integrated bus foot.
