The New PT 2.5 Series - Five Plug-In Directions
for Greater Flexibility
The new PT 2.5 plug-in system from the COMBICON compact
series made its debut at the Hanover fair. This system closes the
gap between traditional pinstrip connectors and classic industry-oriented
PCB connectors.
Moreover, the new PT 2.5 plug-in system, with five
plug-in directions in all, provides previously unattained flexibility
for your device wiring. Polarity reversal protection, a coding option,
and ample terminal space facilitate a safe and error-free installation
under difficult conditions. The L-shaped pinstrips ensure a high
degree of stability and can easily be integrated into the SMD production
process, thanks to the high-temperature-resistant materials. As
with all COMBICON compact screw connections, the highly elastic
conductor protection ensures that the conductors can be removed
reliably, even after repeated connection.
Advantages of the PT 2.5 Plug-In System:
- High degree of flexibility
- Reverse polarity protection and coding option
- Ample terminal capacity up to 4 mm2
- Highly elastic conductor protection
- Reflow-solderable base strips
- Increased current carrying capacity of 13.5 A
Five plug-in directions allow for optimal conductor
routing on the device, irrespective of the local conditions. For
this reason, the plug-in system is particularly well suited for
building-automation and safety-technology devices. Thanks to the
many possible applications of this connection method, the device
manufacturer saves up to 50% of storage costs as compared to other
established plug-in systems. Due to its multitude of features, the
PT 2.5 is a plug-in system without equal.

M12 THR
Phoenix Contact now offers a complete product range
of M12 flush-type female connectors and plugs with THR (Through-Hole-Reflow).
M12 device connectors with Through-Hole-Reflow capability
can be mounted and soldered on the PCB along with SMD components
using the same procedure and under the same conditions. The process-optimized
geometry and machine-capable, stackable tray packaging ensure optimal
handling in the pick & place mounting process.
The product range comprises 4-, 5-, and 8-pos. versions.
For field bus specifications, the contact carriers are available
in B- and D-coded models with shield contact. The spring-loaded
shield enables permanent, secure contact between the housing and
the PCB.
The SPEEDCON M12 screw connections included in the
scope of supply are inserted from the front of the device through
the housing recess, and screwed on from the inside using a counter
nut.

Stackable Power Distributor
DUPLICON by Phoenix Contact is a stackable connector
system with IP 67 protection for power distribution in machines
and systems. The system provides connection options for conductors
with 6 x 4mm² + PE/630 V/25 A.
The upper connector has female contacts on the bottom and male contacts
on top. This enables the connectors to be
pre-assembled, stacked, and flexibly extended. With its
EMC-protected design, Power can be combined with 24 V or with ASi
bus or Profibus.
The industrial grade T-Box enables an efficient looping
through of the master power cable by means of a contact insert with
two screw connections per pole. The square design allows for cable
outlets in 90° increments for easy integration into existing
installations.
The removable cover enables testing during operation.
As a panel feed-through, DUPLICON provides seamless pluggability
- from the DIN rail in the control cabinet, over the distributed
power distributor, and on to the device connection in the field.

Sensor + Test 2007 Fair in Nuremberg
This year, Phoenix Contact will be exhibiting for
the first time at the Sensor + Test Measurement Fair in Nuremberg
from May 22 to May 24, 2007.
At our booth, you will be able to see components and
solutions for measuring and control technology, ranging from MINI
Analog converters - a mere 6.2 mm wide - all the way to compact
industrial power supplies. Of course, we will also be exhibiting
the relevant surge protection components, such as PLUGTRAB PT, and
the new PT/FM with integrated status display, as well as arresters
for the power supply from the "compact" family.
Come learn about solutions from Phoenix Contact at
our exhibit in Hall 9, Booth 311. We look for-ward to meeting you.

New set for 600 Volt DC photovoltaic systems
The new PV-SET 5ST/600DC (Art.-Nr. 29 20 78 0) contains
surge protection, main disconnect switch and terminal blocks in
a set for photovoltaic systems up to 600 volts DC. The set was developed
especially to connect up to 5 solar strings to one potential. It
is equipped with ten UT 6 terminal blocks, 5 for L+ and 5 L-. With
the main disconnect switch you can easily detach the main solar
string from the inverter for safe servicing.
Overview:
- Max. direct voltage: UDC max. (UOC) 600V
DC
- Max. Direct current: IDC (ISC) 30A
- Housing: IP65
- Dimensions: 300mm * 300mm * 142mm
- Adapter cross section input: L+/L- 6mm² flexibel, 10mm²
fixed
- Adapter cross section output: L+/L- up to 25mm²

Coordination of surge arresters
The coordination of lightning current- and surge arresters,
in short for type 1 and type 2 arresters, is referred to as energy
coordination of both protection stages to each other. The target
of this coordination is the energy distribution between type1 and
type 2 arresters and thus an optimal voltage limiting for the connected
device without overloading a protection stage.

QUINT POWER power supply units - highest
system availability owing to Selective Fusebreaking Technology
Compact power supply units of the new QUINT POWER
generation maximize the availability of your system. The SFB technology
(Selective Fusebreaking Technology) can be also used to trigger
standard power circuit breakers quickly and reliably. Defective
current paths are disconnected selectively, the fault is restricted
and important system parts remain in operation. Additionally, a
comprehensive diagnosis of the connected consumers is carried out
by constantly checking the output voltage and output current.
The predictive function monitoring recognizes critical operating
states, visualizes and reports them to the controller in good time.
QUINT POWER guarantees highest system availability.

Sensor box for safety limit switches - cable
effectively, install safely
The PSR-SACB box interconnects up to four safety limit
switches to a safety circuit and connects them to a safety relay,
e.g. PSR-SDC4, using a cable.
The safety technology is thus installed safely and conveniently
according to the 3/EN954-1 category. Additionally, there are four
alarm outputs that can be evaluated in the controller. One safety
relay - four functions: Four safety door limit switches can be evaluated
conveniently and without errors with just one safety relay.
