Double-Level Disconnect Terminal Block
– Half the Width
UTTB 4-MT and TG disconnect terminal blocks, which
are the same shape as UTTB 2.5 and 4 mm² feed-through terminal
blocks, are now available. In signal wiring applications, an increasing
number of contact points have to be wired in the same amount of
space. The potentials routed on two levels reduce space requirements
by 50% compared to single-level terminal blocks. In order to implement
a wide range of switching tasks, especially in measuring and control
technology, a disconnect knife or isolating connector, a component
connector or a fuse connector for 5x20 glass tube fuses can be used
in the standardized CLIPLINE complete disconnect zone of the top
level. Measuring instruments can be looped in via the connection
screws with an integrated test socket, which means that voltage
and current measurements can be performed at any time in both levels
without interruption. The offset levels thus simplify the operation
of the bottom level.
All modular terminal blocks in the UT product group
have been implemented within the framework of the CLIPLINE complete
system for use with cross-system accessories.
In addition to the same bridging system, the accessories
for labeling and testing are the same as those for spring-cage,
spiral spring, and QUICKON IDC connection technology.

RJ-45 and M12 Plug Connectors for Ethernet
and Profinet
The quick connection technology of the new four-pin
M12 Quickon and eight-pin RJ-45 Quickon products from Phoenix Contact
make tool-free connections possible for the first time even under
harsh conditions in industrial environments. Both plug connectors
are extensively shielded and correspond to CAT5 in accordance with
IEC 11801:2002. The generous AWG 26-22 cross-section range for single-wire
and seven-wire cables makes it possible to connect all common types
of Ethernet and Profinet cables.
In industrial environments, Ethernet cabling is increasingly
migrating away from RJ-45 to M12 connectors, which are also used
in sensor/actuator applications: For this reason, Phoenix Contact
has expanded its comprehensive product range for RJ-45 and M12-based
Ethernet and Profinet cabling to include connectors available in
protection categories IP 20 and IP 67, pre-assembled wires, cables
in meter lengths and patch panels for DIN rail systems in control
cabinets.

Fiber Optic Plug Connector with Quick Connection
Technology for Polymer Fibers
The SCRJ Variosub plug connector from Phoenix Contact
is the first IP 67-compliant fiber-optic plug connector with quick
connection technology available on the market. The small form factor
(as per EN 50377-6-1 or IEC 61754-24) and the 2.5 mm ferrules of
the plug connector make it particularly well-suited for 980/1000
µm polymer fibers. The polymer fiber is used for industrial-grade
fast Ethernet cabling with transmission lengths of up to 50 m and
is therefore often installed in machine shop environments. Given
the harsh conditions that prevail in such environments, robust plug
connectors and easy connection techniques are needed.
The field-assembly plug connectors for polymer fibers
are available in IP 20 and IP 67-compliant models. Owing to the
easy handling, connecting the plug connectors is possible even under
the harsh conditions of industrial environments. Phoenix Contact
also offers sufficiently robust cables in meter lengths and as assembled
wires for fiber-optic cabling.
The plug connector is also available for HCS and glass
fibers. The connector is thus suitable for all fiber optic-based
data transmissions in harsh environments in the fields of automation,
industrial building cabling, traffic control, and telecommunications.

Universal Networking for Building Automation
Phoenix Contact has developed the new BC line of housings
for future-oriented applications in building installations. Its
conformance with the DIN 43880 norm makes it easy to use with all
standard distributor boxes. Various widths and interior PCB guide
grooves in all three spatial directions offer the necessary flexibility
when designing devices. Combined with transparent and hinged—or
colored and fixed—housing covers, various devices can be set
into the same housing design.
To respond appropriately to increased networking in
building automation, these housings can be combined with rail-mounted
bus connectors with high pin counts. The 16-pin cross-connector
supplies not only the serial and parallel data transmission, but
also the power source. It saves on time needed for wiring, removes
potential sources of error such as improper wiring, and is the solution
for the growing demands on flexibility and performance for data
utilization in building automation. Translational plugging and unplugging
of individual devices is very easy and is possible without disturbing
module groups. This means that signal transmission is not interrupted.
Devices can be exchanged and functionality can be added without
having to perform any additional rewiring work.
Professional PCB connection technology rounds out
this line of housings. Various installation depths make it easy
to select any terminal block, while interior housing dimensions
have been maximized for convenience.

Space-Saving High-Performance PCB Terminal
The new MKDS 10 HV is a high-performance PCB terminal
from Phoenix Contact and its clever pin arrangement with a pitch
as small as 10.16 mm has been given unlimited 600 V UL approval
(800 V in accordance with VDE). This makes is particularly suitable
for products intended for the international market. With a flexible
16 mm² connector cross-section, it can transfer currents up
to 76 A at ambient temperatures of approx. 60°C. For smaller
connector cross-sections and currents, the current carrying capacity
curve must be taken into consideration. The wire connection utilizes
the tension sleeve principle to screw into this terminal.
The PCB terminal consists of individual terminals
that can be combined for any number of pins. In this way, color
codes can be applied for each pin number.

PROFIBUS Solutions from Phoenix Contact:
From the Control to the Sensor
Phoenix Contact offers a comprehensive product range
which makes it easy for you to implement integrated PROFIBUS solutions
fast. I/O systems, for example, are available in both modular and
block design.
Whereas INLINE modules with IP20 protection are used
in the control cabinet, FIELDLINE components with IP65/67 protection
are designed for field installation. Infrastructure components,
such as fiber optic (FO) converters and repeaters, provide support
for the design of user-specific bus topologies, which can be implemented
in copper or fiber optic technology as required. Our cables and
connectors can be assembled on site within just a few minutes thanks
to the SUBCON-PLUS or F-SMA/B-FOC fast connection system. Our PROFIBUS
portfolio is rounded off with intelligent motor starters and various
gateways, which establish the connection to other bus systems...

INTERFACE safety relays - Plug & Play
in safety engineering
The PSR is a comprehensive range of safety switchgear
and provides the right approval for every field of application.
In addition to the basic approvals for mechanical and plant engineering,
the modules are now also approved for process engineering, furnaces
and shipbuilding.
The Phoenix PSR safety relays offer the highest standard
for monitoring safety relevant signals. All connections are pluggable,
coded, and designed as both screw or twin spring-cage connection.
They guarantee the user maximum ease of wiring and safety in the
event of servicing. With their compact and space-saving design,
the PSR modules offer increased isolation between input/output and
enabling/signaling current circuits. The safety circuit is controlled
via one or two channels with or without cross-circuiting detection.
