New Poster for Field Installation

Phoenix Contact offers products in the area of distributed sensor/actuator cabling that range from molded cables, plug connectors for assembly, panel feed-throughs to passive and active distributor boxes. The product range is now clearly illustrated on a DIN A1 poster. The poster has two product overview pages to allow products to be picked out with ease.

The product range is shown in a clear table structure to enable products to be selected quickly and easily. Images of the products are shown in the navigation margins; these enable quick and easy selection of the required items.

The rear of the poster shows products in the Speedcon fast connection technology range. The Speedcon plug and turn principle reduces the sensor/actuator cabling connection time by up to 90 percent. Quick locking is 100 percent compatible, so the traditional M12 connectors can still be freely used.

M12 Plug Connector for Industrial Ethernet

Phoenix Contact now offers an 8-pin M12 plug connector in protection class IP65 and IP67 for use in industrial environments. The complex shielding makes the system EMI resistant. The CAT 5 requirements to EN 50173:2002 have been fulfilled allowing transmission rates of 100 mbps. Applications in the Power over Ethernet field are also possible.

A comprehensive range of cables assembled at one or two ends is available. Alternate models, such as M12 male on M12 female are available on request. Models from M12 plug connectors to RJ45 plug connectors can be implemented for applications.

2.5 mm² PCB Connection with 600V UL Approval

In the context of the growing trend towards device miniaturization by equipment manufacturers, Phoenix Contact has developed a compact PCB connection in the 2.5 mm² connection range. The “GMSTB 2.5 HCV” plug can transmit a current of 16 amps per pin. The 7.62 mm pitch comfortably permits unlimited 600V UL approval. This approval means that there is no impediment to the use of these plug connector components internationally.

Electronic Load Relays Switch Pumps and Motors in Potentially Explosive Areas

The ELR-MM Ex and EMM Ex electronic load relays provide "motor management" functionality for pumps in potentially explosive areas. The devices enable fully electronic, wear-free motor and pump protection. Motor management means that switching, motor protection and pump protection take place in the same device by means of effective power measurement. If the load conditions on the pump change (e.g. as a result of running dry or a blocked filter), the effective power taken up by the motor changes. It is then possible to respond accordingly. A warning can be output to the control system or the motor can be switched off. A time delay for the response can also be set; this is useful to ensure that air bubbles are not immediately assumed to be an error, for example.

Adapter Simplifies Wall Mounting of Power Adapters

With the universal wall adapter UWA 182/52, Phoenix Contact power supplies can be mounted directly on a surface. If no mounting rail is available or if there is no space remaining, power adapters can be mounted e.g. on the wall of the control cabinet. Depending on the type of application, the use of the wall adapter may even be suitable under extreme vibration requirements.

The included mounting rail adapter is detached from the power supply with a screwdriver. The same screws and the existing holes are used to fix the universal wall adapter. The adapter has a height of 182 mm and a width of 52 mm. It can be used to mount power adapters Trio Power (above 10A), Quint Power and the uninterruptible power supply units Quint UPS.

Further accessories for the Phoenix Contact power supplies include mounting plates for S7-300 rails, protective switches for DC protection, DC voltage distributors and AC and DC surge voltage protection.
